Step 1: Before uninstalling SOLIDWORKS, Backup all your customization & Deactivate your SOLIDWORKS License. (Please refer to guide to Backup all customization & Deactivate/Transfer your license)


Note: If you’re using PDM, Do not follow this steps & Contact Operisoft for help.


Step 2: Log on as Local Administrator account on your computer.


Step 3: Now go to control panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program & right click on SOLIDWORKS & select uninstall.


Step 4: Now select all the SOLIDWORKS Products & Click change under advanced options.



Step 5: Select all the options i.e. Program Files and Folders, Registry Entries, Data Files and Folders, and Download Files and Folders.   A list of locations that will be removed is given. Then click on Back to summary.



Step 6: Now click on Remove Items to uninstall the SOLIDWORKS Products.


Step 7: After SOLIDWORKS Product has been uninstalled, Delete all remaining SOLIDWORKS directories (NOTE: not all locations may be present on your system):


C:\Program Files\Common Files\eDrawings 

C:\Program Files\Common Files\eDrawings<year> 

C:\Program Files\Common Files\SolidWorks Installation Manager 

C:\Program Files\Common Files\SolidWorks Shared 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\eDrawings 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SolidWorks Installation Manager 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SolidWorks Shared 

C:\Program Files\SolidWorks 

C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp 

C:\Program Files (x86)\SolidWorksx86 

C:\Program Files (x86)\SolidWorks Corp 

C:\Program Files\SolidWorks <year> Corp or the custom location where SOLIDWORKS was installed 

C:\SolidWorks Data – delete any duplicates like C:\SolidWorks Data (2) 

C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks 

C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks Flow Simulation


Step 8: Now we must clean up registry keys. (Note: Incorrect changes to the Windows Registry can affect the Windows Operating System and other programs. Contact your IT admin if needed. It is recommended to create a restore point or backups of your registry keys.)


Step 9: Now type Regedit in start menu & open registry editor.


Step 10: Now in registry editor right click on following folders & select delete if available.


1. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software 

  • Dassault Systemes\Composer 
  • eDrawings 
  • SolidWorks 
  • SolidWorks BackOffice 
  • srac 

 

2. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software 

  • Dassault Systemes\3DVIAComposer 
  • Dassault Systemes\Composer 
  • eDrawings 
  • SolidWorks 
  • SolidWorks Corporation 
  • srac

3. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node 

  • Dassault Systemes\3DVIAComposer 
  • Dassault Systemes\Composer 
  • eDrawings 
  • SolidWorks 
  • SolidWorks Corporation 
  • srac


Step 11: Restart the computer after following above steps.


Note: Changing or deleting registries may affect your system, it is advised to backup all the registry & important data before deleting any system registries.


Note: Follow this guide only if your original installation has been corrupted due to some reason & you have to install SOLIDWORKS Product on same machine again.
